Pinot's Palette Apex Chunky Knit Blanket Class

Parents, this December we have many “Drop and Shop” classes where you can leave your kids painting with us while you shop in our neighboring stores. Feel free to take a break from shopping and walk in to watch your young artists in action, and then exit and do some more shopping if you desire. We are located in the center of Beaver Creek Commons Shopping Center where you can pretty much find anything you need this holiday season.

Talking about shopping, here are some gift ideas. Instead of ‘stuff’, how about getting folks ‘experience’ as the holiday present? How about a gift certificate that will allow them to pick a class that they’d like to come and paint? Our gift certificates never expire, and you can put any amount on it. People can redeem gift certificates for classes, frames, and drinks at the bar. You can buy gift certificates online by going to: https://www.pinotspalette.com/apex/gift-certificates or come into the store to get the physical certificates.

If you are planning on a holiday party, whether to celebrate a successful year with your co-workers or to get together with family who are finally back together for the holidays, consider hosting a private paint and sip party with us! Your guests don't need art experience to have a good time. One of our local artists will guide the group through every step of the painting. Your party will have a private room, complete with all the little extras to make the night run smoothly. With a private painting party, you get to call the shots! Pick your party date/time and painting, bring your own food or ask us about catering partners. We host team building events, client appreciation, family reunion, etc. We even deliver parties to your site, just call us and ask about our mobile parties. Requesting private party information is easy, click on the link below and enter some basic information about your celebration and we will be in touch shortly. https://www.pinotspalette.com/apex/party-request?reference=celebrations_cta

Happy Holidays! We hope to paint, sip and have fun with you soon!

What is Open Studio?

From time to time we have ‘Open Studio’ classes on our Pinot’s Palette Apex calendar

CLASS DETAILS
This class accepts gift certificates, studio credits, and credit card payments. Pinot Perks ™ discounts and national Pinot's Palette discounts will apply. No other discounts or daily deals can be accepted.

It's an Open Studio at Pinot's Palette today.

Unlike our traditional step-by-step instructor-led art class with an art instructor on stage... Open Studio time is designed to give you more flexibility and freedom. This is your chance to decide what you'd like to paint!

How does it work?
You have 3 Options to choose from during Open Studio Hours:
(Each option includes all the supplies you need to complete a 10x10 Canvas painting within a 2-hour time slot).
Option 1) Self-Guided Instructions.
Select from our Open Studio painting selections; and then with the help of self-guided instructions complete your painting within any 2-hour time slot from 12pm to 4pm. Last seating at 2pm for 4pm completion.

Option 2) Point and Paint. Find something on our walls and do your best to copy it (all materials and canvas provided but no guided paint instructions...)

Option 3) Be the Artist. We'll provide everything you need for a fun day out: the brushes, the paints , apron, and your own bartender then sit down with some music and start to paint from your own imagination... Have an idea in your head? This is the time to paint it into reality.

You may also choose any of the above options, but on a 20x16 canvas at $25. You can register for regular Open Studio online and pay for the upgrade when you are in the studio.

Feel free to bring your own food, we have drinks and snacks for purchase at the bar too.

See you soon. Pre-registration is preferred.

So what is ‘Open Studio’?

In short, in an Open Studio session, unlike our regular classes, there is no artist on stage giving you step-by-step instructions. All the guests are painting something they choose on their own. Open Studio time is designed to give you more flexibility and freedom. This is your chance to decide what you'd like to paint!

What’s the most popular class right now at Pinot’s Palette?

The Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop! Yes, really!

Pinot’s Palette Apex is having our first Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop on Sunday, October 27th, 2019!

You might have heard about these funtastic classes! They are the hottest thing going at almost all of the Pinot’s Palettes across the U.S.

Did you know that knitting can provide long-lasting health benefits?  At Pinot’s Palette Apex, we’re going to help you knit your stress away while making a beautiful, super soft, chunky knit blanket. That’s because we’re big proponents of do-it-yourself projects that benefit the mind and body.

On Sunday, October 27th, we will have our Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop from 2 pm to 5 pm. No knitting experience required! We will guide you step by step and show you how easy it is to hand knit your own Chunky Knit Ultra Soft Blanket.

When you book your spot for the class online at https://www.pinotspalette.com/apex/event/359119, you are reserving 128 yards of high-quality, super-soft yarn, a drink of your choice, as well as a delicious snack! Get ready to have a relaxing afternoon with friends old and new, knitting, chatting, and having fun!

If you need more inspiration to join in the fun, here are seven amazing health benefits of knitting:

Natural Stress Reliever

The repetitive action of knitting can induce a relaxed state similar to what is experienced during meditation and yoga. That’s because repetitive movement helps increase serotonin levels in the body, which helps balance mood while enhancing relaxation.
Reduces Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose, and Muscle Tension.

Knitting has been shown to dramatically lower heart rate and blood pressure and reduces harmful blood levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which increases heart rate, blood pressure, blood glucose, and muscle tension. By decreasing cortisol levels, you’re simultaneously improving your mood and promoting restful sleep, all without ever filling a prescription. Let’s toast to that!

Helps Your Fine Motor Skills

Knitting and crochet help with fine motor skills. It keeps your fingers and hands feeling good and limber as you age. Knitting has also been shown to help arthritic fingers remain more dexterous as they age. The Arthritis Foundation even suggests approaching knitting as if it were a sport, by warming up the hands before getting started. Regular knitters who stick with it see the long-term benefits and less pain when it comes to arthritis.

Knitting Keeps You Socially Active

We couldn’t talk about knitting without talking about socializing, which is what we’re all about here at Pinot’s Palette Apex. Whether you take this hobby and continue at home with a few knitting friends, or you attend our regular knit and sip classes, knitting always provides a fantastic opportunity to connect with other people. And we all know the health benefits of a little social interaction.

In general, craft activities produce tangible and often useful products. There’s a deep sense of accomplishment that comes with creating something lasting with your very own hands. We’re happy to say, creative fulfillment is without a doubt one of the main benefits of attending our classes.

So come on by, fill up your creative tank, and enjoy some great wine already!

This immersive, expressive type of pour art painting is so FUN and is truly a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you can create yourself!

Marble Art, a.k.a. acrylic pouring is a fascinating fluid painting technique that has become increasingly popular. You probably have seen the stunning paint pour art techniques being shared all over the internet. It is mesmerizing to watch videos of acrylic paint effortlessly being poured on canvases to achieve beautiful results. You can do it too! All you need is a little instruction, the right paint and a little technique to create your own one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

Image result for pinot's palette marble artWhat to Expect:

In our studio, you do not need to be an artist to create paintings that you will be proud to showcase in your home. Many of our guests have not picked up a paintbrush since grade school. Marble art (paint pouring) is perfect for beginners and experts alike. If you want to give painting a try, this would be a good one to start with. You can’t make mistakes! While this fluid art form is not difficult, you will need to learn the right technique. Just like our other painting classes, your trained artist will guide you step-by-step.

Every Canvas is Unique
Every painting is unique to the pour technique and shades used. Even if you use the same paint, there will be no canvases that look identical, which is half the fun!

Match Your Home Décor
The best thing about paint pouring? Transforming your space with a canvas tailored to blend in your current décor. Friends and family will be amazed to learn that YOU are the artist behind the canvas!

A New Experience Every time

National Dog Day August 26th, 2019 and Pinot’s Palette Apex Paint Your Pet Class!

Do you know that August 26th is National Dog Day? National Dog Day is about dogs of all breeds, pure and mixed. National Dog Day encourages appreciation for family dogs and working dogs, such as bomb dogs, service dogs, rescue dogs and law enforcement dogs. They work selflessly to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. They put their lives on the line every day - for their law enforcement partner, for the disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage.

National Dog Day is also the day we raise awareness of the dogs that need to be rescued. Many dogs are homeless or have been abandoned. Every year, these dogs are taken into shelters, where millions of them are euthanized. In the US, approximately 3.9 million dogs enter animal shelters every year, of these, 1.2 million are euthanized. Only 35% of shelter dogs are adopted, 26% are returned to their owners and 31% are euthanized.

National Dog Day was founded in 2004 by Animal Advocate, Colleen Paige. The date of August 26th is significant, as it's the date that Colleen's family adopted her first dog "Sheltie" when Colleen was 10 years old. "Millions of dogs are killed each year because they're simply unwanted,” says Colleen Paige. “They're unwanted because no one realized how to properly care for the demands of the breed. They're unwanted because they were bought as a Christmas gift for a child that didn't keep their promises about caring for the dog...unwanted because they shed too much...unwanted because they bark too much. UNWANTED...simply because someone changed their mind. All a dog wants to do is love you and be loved by you. Dogs are amazing, courageous, sensitive and sentient beings that deserve compassion and respect. Please consider bringing what was once considered ‘unwanted love,’ into your heart and home on National Dog Day!"

What will you do to celebrate National Dog Day? Here are a few ideas:

1) Adopt a dog. There are local shelters in most counties that pick up strays or take in animals that have been given up or abandoned. Visit your local shelter to pick up a new companion.

2) Donate to one of many organizations such as the Humane Society or the ASPCA  that help animals in need. You can also donate blankets, pet food and toys to your local animal shelter.

3) Volunteer your time at your local animal rescue shelter. Most shelters operate with volunteers. There is always a need for help walking, feeding, playing with and cleaning up after the animals.

4) Sign your dog up for dog training classes. There are many options from confirmation, obedience, rally, hunting, agility and utility, amongst others.

5) Have a safety check of your home to make sure it’s safe for your dog and others.

6) Last but not least, sign up to come to paint a portrait of your dog in our studio. Once you sign up for the painting, email us a high-quality digital photo of your dog, and we will do the rest!

Each photo will be transferred onto a 16” x 20” canvas. Our talented artists will walk you through the steps to create your very own Pet Portrait! Even if you have never painted anything in your life, don’t worry - our artists will be with you every step of the way and help you create a portrait you will be proud of.

Class registration is open now till September 10th. The event is 2-5pm on Saturday, September 21st.
